Art has always been a part of my life. I wasn’t the kid who always had a pencil in her hand but from a young age I could see I had a knack for art. I used to sell unicorn drawings door-to-door with my friend and when people asked what I wanted to be when I grew up I’d say I wanted to be a mom and an artist.
I took art classes in high school and college and ended up with a BFA from the University of Utah in 2005. After graduating I moved to Northern Virginia where I worked in an office job for five years, doing a little painting on the side. As I approached age 30 and my first dream hadn’t yet been realized (I was still single) I decided to make art a bigger priority in my life and wanted to improve my drawing skills. In 2010 I moved back to Salt Lake to attend the Hein Academy of Art and I graduated five years later. Since then I got married, had two kids, and I’m currently living my dream of being a mom and an artist.
